Zachary Getsinger might not be where he is today if not for The Five Amigos and their profound influence on his life.

“It just was never a question for us,” Wes Worthen says, about Dan’s Food Market’s decision to keep Alex on staff after federal law regulating wages for differently abled people forced some businesses to let those staff go. “People coming in and not seeing Alex would be a detriment [to our business].”

John Bangsund took Danyl Klump under his wing when Danyl was on John’s football team.

“It was an awesome connection we had,” Dan says. “I learned life lessons through football. The lessons of the game of football you transfer to your family, career, and college.”

Through Dan’s relationship with John, Dan gave his life to Christ on the football field. And out of gratitude, Dan now serves on The Dwelling Place board of directors.

The Dwelling Place continues to overflow with laughter, joy, and activity as our family of brothers and caregivers has been sheltered in a most beautiful place.

Steve and Sally Voorhies prayed for their son, Christopher, to have his own life when he reached adulthood. The Dwelling Place answered their prayer.
